You could choose a competing solution -- upgrade all of your PCs, install new hardware and software, and spend weeks getting everything running just right -- or you could choose ROSnet instead. ROSnet start-up requirements are very simple. In fact, ROSnet might be the easiest multi-unit restaurant information management solution to implement and operate.

There are a few baseline requirements for ROSnet. Most multi-unit restaurant operations will meet or exceed these requirements. If your systems don't quite meet one of the listed items, ROSnet can assist you in determining the best and most cost-effective approach to bringing your systems up to speed.

• A restaurant POS system that utilizes a centrally-located personal computer (PC) for control or reporting purposes. Almost every POS system manufactured within the past 15 years meets this requirement. The few that don't might have a PC option available (examples: Panasonic "Manager's Workstation" software) that would allow the system to work with ROSnet.
• A connection to the Internet at every restaurant location, and at your office. Dial-up connections are OK, but high-speed Internet access is better and increasingly more cost-effective option. (Don't worry... we can work with you to SECURE your Internet access so that it can be used for business purposes only.)
• Five or more restaurant locations. ROSnet can be used in companies with fewer than five locations, but ROSnet charges will be based on a minimum of five locations. You can start with the five location package, and "grow into it" as you open additional locations.

We hear this concern often... but the age of a particular POS platform is not a reliable factor in determining whether ROSnet can be implemented in your company. ROSnet works great with some POS platforms that could almost be classified as "antique." MS-DOS based POS platforms from Micros, Squirrel and TEC, and "cash register" style systems from Panasonic and TEC (utilizing an add-on back office PC) are capable of ROSnet integration, as well as the "latest and greatest" POS systems based on open standards.

ROSnet is one of the few companies that can offer a fully functional solution, even when MULTIPLE POS platforms -- different versions, different systems, different manufacturers -- are used in your company. ROSnet is currently implemented in companies that have as many as three different POS systems in use in different locations within a single restaurant concept.

Again, Internet connectivity is required -- preferably a high-speed connection -- along with the current release version of the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser (FREE download from Microsoft) and a strong encryption package for your web browser (also FREE). Microsoft Excel is optional, but will be needed if you want to view certain reports as Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. No expensive hardware, and no custom software is required for your office.
